Comunicato della casa editrice Wiley

To our society publishing partners:

The growing global impact of COVID-19 is a stark reminder of how important it is to widely communicate current, validated scientific and scholarly research. We're working hard to ensure that there is no disruption to our publishing operations as a result of the coronavirus, and we want to share with you some of the steps we're taking to support that continuity.

The health of our community of colleagues, partners, customers, authors, and readers is our primary concern. To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, we've instructed our teams to eliminate non-essential travel through at least the end of April. We're also encouraging colleagues to limit their exposure and transmission risk by adopting flexible working arrangements, including working from home. We're supporting them with the technology they need to work as effectively from their homes as they do from one of our office locations. There is no need to adjust the way that you connect with your Wiley publishing team: remote access is available for all Wiley systems, including email and other communication tools.

Operationally, to date we have seen no impact from COVID-19 on our editorial and production services. Our vendor partners have business continuity plans precisely for situations like this. Many are based in multiple sites in different geographic locations, giving them the flexibility to move work from one location to another, and some aspects of our vendors' work can be conducted remotely. We continue to monitor the situation closely and, in the event that the operations of any of our vendor partners become affected by a coronavirus outbreak, we will update you immediately on likely impact and our resolution approach.

We're mindful of the growing number of universities shifting to a remote learning model on very short notice. To help support educators at impacted institutions without an adopted online learning solution, we are delivering free access to our WileyPLUS, Knewton Alta or zyBooks learning platforms for the remainder of the current term. We're also working with our library customers to ensure that Wiley Online Library platform training resources are easily available and that their students, researchers, faculty, and all other patrons can easily access content on the Wiley Online Library without being present on campus.

For readers in general, we're not anticipating any disruption to our platform availability, although of course ongoing monitoring, assessment, and action planning is underway. For researchers and professionals working on COVID-19 in particular, Wiley has made more than 5,000 COVID-19-related articles freely available. Last month, we joined Wellcome Trust in the commitment to ensuring rapid access to COVID-19 research. Our COVID-19-related articles are hosted on an enhanced Wiley Online Library site and also discoverable through a free, real-time feed of the latest research and news on COVID-19 supported by Scitrus, Atypon's AI-driven personalized discovery application.

We hope that, as your organization contends with the increasing impact of COVID-19, you'll let us know how we can best support you. Please don't hesitate to reach out to your Wiley publishing contact or any member of your Wiley publishing team. Our teams are ready to help however we can to ensure that your publications continue to reach the audience that relies on them and your organization continues to receive the service and returns that you've come to expect from Wiley.

Thank you for the work that you're doing to advance research and thank you for allowing us to be part of that critical work. Most importantly, we hope that you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy during this challenging time.

Sincerely,
Jay Flynn
SVP and Chief Product Officer, Wiley Research
